"Hey look, it's the cowl from 'Outlander!'" Well, not quite. I've never seen Outlander before. We don't have TV on the boat or at the house, just "rabbit ears" on the boat. We can pick up several channels, but they're off channels, like Grit TV or Bounce TV and certaintly not Starz. Darn it! But I've heard of Outlander! The scenery, the costumes, the settings, it's all so magical. www.starz.com/series/outlander/episodes When I started reading a little more about these patterns, I discovered that Lion Brand Yarns has the official Outlander license. They've created a whole series of patterns, both in knit and crochet, for several pieces shown within the series! You should check it out! www.lionbrand.com/blog/outlander-knit-crochet-kits/ Last Sunday, two couples stopped by my booth and mentioned the similarity of my brown infinity scarf to Claire's. "I've actually never seen the series" I said. The wives talked about how beautiful the knitwear is, how intriguing the storyline is, and the beautiful the countryside in the series.. But it was one of the husbands that said, "You should read the book, it's better than the TV series." hum. . .read a book. . . I can't remember the last time I read a book! I love reading, and my home is filled with books!
"She has all her books divided into different rooms of the house, and grouped by topic," my Faithful Sherpa says, teasingly. The front bedroom of the house is for Clive Cussler, California History, and home improvement, the hallway is cookbooks, the back bedroom, aka my makeshift office, is for knitting, It all makes perfect sense to me! But to actually sit down, not to knit, but to read, that's a novel idea. (pun intended!) So that's it, I'm going to start with the Outlander Series! www.dianagabaldon.com/books/outlander-series/ Now I can't wait to sit down and lose myself in her stories! But of course I won't stop knitting!
