A disrupted walk
This is my view during my morning walk to work. But for the past week, it's changed.
The Sausalito Art Festival is happening this weekend! (sausalitoartfestival.org/#save-the-date)
It's a fun event, and if you have a chance to go to the festival, then do it! You'll find amazing art work there!
I walk thru this park each morning on my way to the office, but I knew, before long, my morning walk to work would be disrupted.
Each day, more tents were erected, and gates moved, and replaced with large platforms for stages. With more festival construction happening, I knew I'd have to walk a different route to work.
This is "the long way around." It's still a beautiful walk, just a different way.
That's Steefenie Wicks and Dede Burkell. We see each other every morning. It's our habit to stop and say hello, talk about our day ahead, how their dogs are doing. They'll ask what knitting project I have with me, and then we're off, in our own directions to conquer the day!
The other morning, when we saw each other on the "long path" we all laughed. "Yup, gates are closed on our regular route."
Walking the long way round gives me a chance to see new sights and signs. See, the world is telling me everything will be OK, and here's heart to prove it!
I hope you get a chance to break your habits, even if it is for just one week. You'll never know what you'll find along the way!
