We drove up to Round Valley Lake for a mini photo shoot. It was cold and super icy, but beautiful! Let me quickly show you... See all that white behind me to the right, thats the lake. Yup, it's frozen! It was cold cold today, 30 degrees! Originally we were going to drive over the dam to the spot we found a couple of months ago. The bridge was clear of snow but as soon as you get to the other side, it was thick with snow! So we backed up and parked in the main area. As soon as I put my foot out the door, it started sliding. We were parked on top of clear, slippery ice! So I very carefully shuffled my feet to a snowy spot where I could walk more relaxed and upright! I was pulling my hair out from under the cream colored infinity scarf!!! Really!!!
It was bright outside, but then again it was mid day and sunny. So we walked around until we found a good spot so I didn't end up squinting in each photo. We had to stop photographing a couple of times. So many people, just like us, wanted to take advantage of the sun! Hikers, people riding around the lake, cross country skiers, everyone was out today! After an hour our feet were cold, so we decided to head back down the twisty road. The road was covered in snow, and icy in the shaded corners, so we put the Tahoe in low gear and slowly cruised down the road. You could see tracks from other cars and trucks who ventured up to the lake. Quite a few had slid around the corners, but we, thankfully, didn't see any signs of an accident! And we, thankfully, didn't slide! Don't forget to check out the new cowls and infinity scarves in the store! http://www.josefinafineknits.com/store/c3/scarves-cowls.html
