Theres nothing like good friends, our family, our chosen family. And you know you're close friends when 10 years go by between visits and it's as if you saw them yesterday. Holly and I spent the day wandering in and out of stores. And for some strange reason we ended up contemplating on which non traditional item would make the best pin. Cupid dolls, silver wire bird nests, just about everything was considered. In the end, we decided everything would work! Our husbands used to work together for 15 years. That's how we all met. Then Matt and Holly got married, had three kids and then 10 years ago they decided they needed a change of scenery and moved up north. It was good for them, but it's always hard when good friends move! When we first drove up for a visit they were just starting to remodel their late 1800's house. This is now their kitchen but when we visited 10 years ago it was a shell of a room. We slept on the floor in our sleeping bags next to the table saws and stacks of lumber. Holly is an incredibly artistic person! She runs an art school and was telling me about all the different programs they are putting together for the new year. Pottery, painting, tin work and so much more. Their house feeds my artistic soul! The textures, the colors, the layers, the unusual mixed with the usual, with a whole lot of glitter mixed in. It was exactly the inspiration I needed! I don't want so simply knit, which I will continue to do. I can't seem to stop! But I also want to create! Create with colors, textures, and weird stuff! Thank you Matt and Holly for the fantastic visit, the great memories and the inspiration!
