Acrylic, wool, ribbon, it all blends so beautifully together!
It’s so much fun to create something with the Feather and Fan stitch. It’s one of the easiest lace stitches, and has such a big impact! And if you mix it with various yarns, it even looks more beautiful!

Shelley, my model, really brings this shawl to life!
I love the impact of using multiple yarns on projects. The mix of thick and thin, typical with the unexpected. And mix that with the lacy feather and fan stitch, it brings your work to a whole new level!

Even scrunched up, the feather and fan lace stitch is beautiful!
New Stitch a Day has a great tutorial on the feather and fan stitch. You can find that here:

Here is what the pattern looks like written out:
Pattern:
Cast on in multiple of 24’s. So, 24, 48, 72, etc.
Row 1 (RS): Knit
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: *(k2tog) 4 times, (yo, k1) 8 times, (k2tog) 4 times; rep from * to end.
Row 4: Purl.
Repeat rows 1 – 4 until you have reached your desired length.

I love the flow and lines of the feather and fan pattern
Give a try. Try not to get frustrated though. In the beginning it’s easy to make mistakes. But keep trying, you’ll get the hang of it.
