"Oh my, who's going to want this one!?!" I said to my Faithful Sherpa. The colors aren't my style at all. They are too bright and pink. I started questioning why I ever started knitting with it. "You never know," he said. "Someone will like it." Its a funny thing about color combinations. There's always the perfect colorway for everyone, even if I don't think so. I picked this yarn from my stash not because of the colors, but because it is the right weight and I have a lot of it for my project. I'm still playing with different shawlette patterns, which need between 350 - 400 yards. I have four balls of this sockweight yarn which was perfect. So I started knitting. But the more I knitted the more unsure I became of the colors. Pink, red, purple and blue, what a combo! But I kept knitting, reminding myself of what my Faithful Sherpa said to me. "Someone will love it!" What color will use for the tassels? Blue? Pink? Purple? Will any of those calm down the color in my mind? Later in the afternoon Margaret stopped. by the house. She was looking for pink yarn to knit herself and her daughter a "Pussy Hat" to wear to the Women's March on Sacramento event next week.
"I love what your are working on. The colors are great!" And with those two sentences, all my concerns faded away! My Faithful Sherpa was right, there's color combinations for everyone!
