I love the forest after the rains. Everything is so vibrant, and so beautiful. We all had to take a break during the epic Nerf-e-gedon this past weekend. We decided to take a short hike to the waterfalls near my sisters house. It's so incredibly beautiful in the forest right now. Every time I turned the corner, there was another amazing vista right in front of me. Moss was everywhere, as well as miniature forests of ferns. And teenie tiny eco systems everywhere. I have now idea what type of mushrooms these are but they only stand about 1/2 tall. And these eensie weensie flowers stood only 1/4" tall. It was so hard to capture; the flowers were so small that my camera didn't know where to focus! Moss on bricks is my favorite combination, ever! The colors are incredible! I just love walking into the woods, soaking in Mother Natures coloways. I love capturing each scene in photos, just so I can study the color combinations, the slight variations of brown with a pop of green. . .the way the red blends with the blacks of the tree roots. I never know when the color combination will work it's way into my knitting, but they always do! And the extra added benefits of walking in the woods are invaluable. Breathing in the clean air, listening to the bugs buzzing, the birds calling out to one another, stopping to watch the waterfalls.
It restores my soul and excites me as I try and recreate the colors of the forest in my work. I recommend you take a walk in the woods yourself. You'll feel the benefits instantly!
