Well, that's it! Pat and her girls are now off to new adventures. I'm so happy for them, but I will surely miss them! For the past couple of years, every Tuesday night, we have dinner at Thai Terrace. Pat, Pete and their two girls have been so wonderful and an integral part of our community! But a couple of months ago, after a battle with cancer, Pete passed away. It was such a sad time for everyone! Pete was such a strong person. Every day he came into the restaurant, and followed his routine, no matter if he was feeling good or not! He just wanted to be with his family and friends instead of home lying in bed. Let me just say it here, cancer sucks! Ever since then, Pat and her girls have been surrounded by family. They flew over from Thailand right away to be with her. Pat's mother had been right by her side for the first few months. And her sister, brother-in-law and their 2 year old daughter Mika were here for quite a while, as well. You can read about our thrilling, and lively conversations with Mika here. www.josefinafineknits.com/blog/creature-of-habit I knew that it was her last night. Pat had said the 26th. She was only open for 2 hours, so we headed down for our last meal together. Claypot Chicken, House Pad Thai and spring rolls, all our favorite dishes! We savored every bite. I didn't want to waste one drop of this delicious meal! I would have licked the bowl, if I thought I wouldn't have looked too foolish doing so! Change is hard, and its hardest when friends move. But I'm excited about the next steps in their lives.
Goodbye my friends. Thank you for the many, many wonderful meals together, and for allowing us to be part of your lives.
