I'm not Going to Make it to Knit Night Tonight

I hate it when I have to say that. Thursday night Knit Nights have always been a sanctuary for me, a place to take a break from the stressors of the world and connect with friends. But not this Thursday.

I love knit nights. I love the dedicated time, I love knowing that for sure I'll be knitting on Thursday nighhts. But most importantly, I love connecting with everyone there.

We started out as a group of customers of Sophie's at Bluebird yarns. She created the perfect spot for everyone to gather and knit around the table at Bluebirds.

But our Thursday nights have become more than just customers gathering to knit. We had become friends, bonded by our love of fiber. Knitters and crocheters together sharing ideas, likes, tips, tricks and patterns. We also share our stories, our ups and downs, the tough times and the carefree times.

In the summers we meet at the Spinnaker restaurant in Sausalito. It's a beautiful spot, with incredible views of the San Francisco Bay.

And in the winter we meet at Barnes and Noble in Corte Madera. It's a perfect central location for all of us.

Every week we bring in anything we are working on. Anything from sweaters, vests, hats, cowls and socks. And every week we share what has been happening in our lives. The trip we took to Utah skiing, the yarn crawl we went on with friends, the new puppy that just came into our lives.

While I was away on our staycation I missed my regular Thursday nights.

My friend, Nancy Presser graciously offered her studio for a Knit Night of my own. It was a snowy, misty and cold night but it was warm and cozy inside Sacred Spaces. I had so many responses that I've have decided to do this on a little more regular basis!

Our first Stitching Together event will happen on Saturday January 28, 2017 10:00-11:30 am held at Sacred Spaces 109 Ann Street, Greenville, CA (Hwy 89 across from Mountain Valley Pizza and next to the fire department.)

Bring a chair, and your project, whether it's crochet, knitting, cross stitch, spinning or whatever you are working on! And if you need help, I'll do what I can to answer your questions!
